EHMS Milestones Information

​EHMS Families — As we prepare for Milestones testing, please watch this short video by our principal, Dr. Hitzges, overviewing what to expect for testing.

Testing will start next week for 8th graders and continue the next week for all grades:

  • 8th Grade – Science (May 3) & Social Studies (May 4)
  • 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade – ELA (May 8, 9, 10) & Math (May 11 & 12) 

Here are some tips to help your student do their best during testing:

  1. Encourage your child to work hard and give their best effort.
  2. Make sure your child goes to bed at a good time. (Take cell phones away at night if possible).
  3. Help your child be on time for school.
  4. Make sure your child eats a good breakfast.
  5. Bring glasses (if your child needs them for reading).

Additionally, Georgia Online experience lets students see the platform, see the types of questions the students will experience, and practice with the online tools students will use during the Georgia Milestones.  You can find directions for accessing Georgia Online Experience here (Page 1 in English, Page 2 in Spanish).

Las pruebas comenzarán la próxima semana para los estudiantes de 8º grado y continuarán para todos los grados en la siguiente semana:

  • 8vo Grado – Ciencias (3 de mayo) y Estudios Sociales (4 de mayo)
  • Grados 6, 7 y 8: ELA (8, 9 y 10 de mayo) y Matemáticas (11 y 12 de mayo)

Aquí hay algunos consejos para ayudar a su estudiante a hacer lo mejor posible durante las pruebas:

  1. Anime a su hijo/a a trabajar duro y hacer su mejor esfuerzo.
  2. Asegúrese de que su hijo/a se acueste a una buena hora. (Quite los teléfonos celulares por la noche si es posible).
  3. Ayude a su hijo/a a llegar a tiempo a la escuela.

Book Fair – Cash, Check, or “KidCredit” Payments Only

The EHMS Book Fair is going on NOW! Please note the book fair can only accept CASH or CHECK (made payable to East Hall Middle) for in-person payments.  *If you wish to pay with credit card, please add funds to your child’s KidCredit account online from home with a credit card.  Any unused funds loaded to your child’s KidCredit account will be refunded, if not used by the end of the book fair.

The Book Fair ends Tuesday, April 18 at 1:45 pm.

All students will be visiting the book fair in the library once with their ELA teacher.

La venta de libros de EHMS se esta llevando a cabo AHORA! Tenga en cuenta que en la venta de libros solo se acepta efectivo o cheque (a nombre de East Hall Middle) para pagos en persona. Si desea pagar con tarjeta de crédito, agregue fondos a la cuenta KidCredit de su hijo/a en línea desde su casa con una tarjeta de crédito. EHMS Student Winter Break Literacy Challenge

Complete the CHALLENGE:

  • FIRST – Read for 20 minutes at least 15 of the 18 days of break (December 17 – January 3)
    • Place a CHECK by each date listed on the calendar that you read for at least 20 minutes.
    • Write the title of the book you read in the blank space of the date.
  • SECOND – Complete at least 3 of the STUDENT CHOICE items below the calendar.
    • Place a check by each STUDENT CHOICE item you complete.
