Summer Registration

East Hall Middle School summer virtual (online) registration days will be Tuesday’s and Thursday’s throughout the summer. Registration dates are:

June 9 and 10
June 16 and 18
June 23 and 25
June 30 and July 2
July 7 and 9
July 14 and 16

There will be no “in person” registration at the school.

There will be an in person option at Ivester ONLY for Hall County families who do not have a smart phone or internet. The site will be open for appointments on M, W of each week beginning mid- June. The location is:

Dear Parent/Guardian: 

Your child is currently enrolled in one or more high school credit courses. You have the right to accept or to decline the Carnegie unit and grade earned in these courses.  If your child does not pass a course, no credit is earned for that particular course.  For any failed Carnegie class, an automatic decline is registered.  

Should you decide to accept the credit, your child will earn Carnegie credit to be applied toward his/her high school graduation requirements.  The grade earned in this course will also count toward the high school Grade Point Average (GPA).

Should you decide to decline the credit for this course, your child would need to take this course or its equivalent again during the 9th Grade school year or when most appropriate for your child’s course sequence.  Please note, there is no guarantee that the particular course your child wants to take is available at the high school each school year.  Courses offered are determined by sufficient enrollment to fill the class.

It is important to remember that your decision is FINAL after the tenth day of the next school year.  No changes may be made after the tenth day.

Su hijo está actualmente inscrito en uno o más cursos de crédito de la escuela secundaria. Tiene derecho a aceptar o rechazar la unidad Carnegie y la calificación obtenida en estos cursos. Si su hijo no aprueba un curso, no se obtiene crédito por ese curso en particular. Para cualquier clase de Carnegie reprobada, se registra un rechazo automático.

 

Si decide aceptar el crédito, su hijo obtendrá el crédito Carnegie que se aplicará a los requisitos de graduación de la escuela secundaria. La calificación obtenida en este curso también contará para el Promedio de calificaciones (GPA) de la escuela secundaria.

EHMS Parents — If your child still has any EHMS items (chromebook, charging cable, books, uniforms, etc) please bring back these items during our drop-off returns this week Monday, May 18th through Thursday, May 21st from 8:00 AM – 12:00 Noon daily.

The drop-off return boxes are located by the exterior lobby doors under the covered main entrance.  You will see a box for “Chromebook Return” and “Book Return”.  Please place your returned items in the appropriate labeled box.  Please only drop off items in the marked boxes this week Monday-Thursday during the hours of 8 AM – Noon.  Items left outside of these times cannot be guaranteed accounted for.

If your child still has items and someone in your house hold is sick, your child needs additional time for school work, or you are otherwise unable to return the items during these times, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher via email.

Please note: All new assignments ended May 7th and the final date for make up work submission by students is the morning of May 22nd.

Si su hijo/a todavía tiene algún artículo de EHMS (Chromebook, el cargador, libros, uniformes, etc.), devuélvalos durante esta semana del lunes 18 de mayo al jueves 21 de mayo de 8:00 a.m. a 12: 00 del mediodía.

Las cajas de devolución se encuentran junto a las puertas exteriores de la entrada principal de la escuela. GPB Education is excited to announce that Dana Farr from East Hall Middle School was selected as one of 19 educators from across the country for the PBS Digital Innovator All-Star Program. The PBS Digital Innovator All-Star program brings together a community of PreK-12th grade educators who are innovators and leaders both in and outside of the classroom. Each of the Digital Innovator All-Stars was selected from a cohort of educators who are doing extraordinary work in their local communities, supporting student learning by integrating media and digital technology in their teaching environments, inspiring students to use these tools in responsible, effective and empowering ways.

Dana teaches eighth grade Georgia Studies in Gainesville, Georgia. She also oversees her school’s VR lab, one of the first in the state of Georgia, is a co-sponsor of her school’s broadcast club, and serves in various leadership roles throughout her school. Dana is also a member of Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Education Advisory Group where she provides valuable feedback on GPB’s educational content.

“Dana truly embodies what it means to be a PBS Digital Innovator,” said Laura Evans, GPB’s Director of Education. “Every day she brings our state’s history to life for her students through a variety of digital tools, and her knowledge of virtual reality in the classroom is unmatched.”

Dana’s dream is for the volume of her voice to amplify the need she sees for all students to learn, innovate, and feel loved.

In partnership with Georgia Public Broadcasting, Dana Farr will spend the 2020-2021 school year deepening engagement among students, families, educators, schools, and GPB.
