EHMS Families –School may be out this summer, but your child can still enjoy reading all summer long! Reading is crucial for their preparation for the upcoming school year. We have plenty in store to keep your child engaged with books throughout the summer.
- Did you know that students who don’t read during the summer can lose over two months of academic progress? Encouragingly, having your child read just 5 books this summer can prevent this learning loss.
- Plus, even as little as 6 minutes of reading can reduce stress by 60% and improve memory, focus, and concentration!
- Consistent reading also yields long-term benefits. Students who read for 20 minutes a day throughout the year typically score at or above the 90th percentile on standardized tests.

- Enroll in the Hall County Public Library Summer Reading Program and you can WIN even more prizes!
